I’m always curious about how children see things and how it translates into their artwork whether it’s drawing, painting, felting, building, etc. I’ve been hanging out with my friend’s kids for the past few months and it’s great to see how imaginative they both can be. And it’s equally fabulous that their mom is super creative herself and is constantly getting them involved with activities, programs and projects that involve sparking their imaginations.
Here are a couple of drawings they gave me recently:

Chef by Ramzy (not from Hell's Kitchen)
Hmmm, I should get them to sign these masterpieces in case they hit it big one day …

Through my sister (she deserves a blog post of her own so that will come soon), I learned of a fellow blogger who is also doing his own CSOTD (“creative something of the day”) and sharing it with others.
More impressively, Brian Hartley has been doing this since January 1, 2009! (See? I KNEW I should have stuck with my new year’s resolution!) Enjoy Harto’s Daily Doodle — lots of happy colours and his characters are full of personality.
And now for my own CSOTD:

I know the Easter rabbit’s not supposed to be visiting for a couple of weeks yet but I’ve suddenly had a population explosion of Lindt chocolate bunnies in my apartment (darn). Here are a few of them in action:

Guess I’ll just have to start rounding them up … mmmmmmm …
Today’s CSOTD can be considered a dedication to Robert De Niro/Martin Scorsese (ok, not really):

On my way home this morning from the gym, I spotted the first spring fashion statement in the squirrel world — so glad I had my camera with me to catch the moment. Check out this dude’s pants!

So now that you know what’s in style, go dress your favourite rodent.
Today’s CSOTD (kinda like pre-fashion show):

Saw this pic in The Globe and Mail‘s daily photo gallery the other day — have always wanted to try it and hopefully one day I will (beautiful scenery all around would just be bonus)!

Very excited about Toronto’s annual Hot Docs Film Festival being back in town from April 30th to May 10th. For the past few years, I’ve been lucky enough to check out a few movies each time and try to go with different friends to share the experience and spread the word. Haven’t had a chance yet to look through this year’s schedule to read the write-ups but already looking forward to seeing some good stuff on the big screen.
And now for today’s CSOTD:

I know there are a bunch of these Schoolhouse Rock skits floating around (I’m obviously stuck in some sort of nostalgic time warp) but here are a couple of my favourites — and don’t blame me if one of these ditties becomes stuck in your head for the rest of the day (“Lolly, lolly, lolly …” … sorry):
As for my CSOTD, here you go:
