Squiggles on note pads, stick men on newspapers, smiley faces on Post-It notes, geometric patterns on napkins, hearts on notebooks — I think we’re all familiar with doodling and have all done it at some point or another.
Check out Doodlers Anonymous for some inspiration or just to see what other people like to draw when they find themselves with pen in hand. Here’s a very clever Audi commercial that they have posted — some pretty amazing animation:
So here’s today’s Creative Doodle of the Day:

Another beautiful day here in Toronto with the sun shining and making me think of bright, happy things like sunflowers. Here are a couple of shots that I took way back when because they made me smile (and still do today):
Today’s CSOTD (Creative Something of the Day) is also sunflower related but I don’t think this fella is quite as happy as those guys above — had a lot of fun drawing him tho’:

Today, we announced the winners of the giveaway that my sister and I were having — congratulations! And thanks to everyone else who entered and made this such a fun experience.
And here’s another CSOTD (Creative Something of the Day) that I want to share:

I drew yesterday’s and today’s CSOTDs (Creative Something of the Day) with an OLIVEdesOLIVE pen that I bought from The Paper Place (a very cool paper/stationery/card store to check out if you haven’t already) on the weekend. I like how the ink flows smoothly but wish it were permanent and didn’t smudge so easily. Pretty cute design and a range of colours to choose from too:
Creative Something of the Day for today:
Maybe I should have done this in blue … hmm, there’s always tomorrow.

When I got my words for today’s CSOTD (Creative Something of the Day), my first thoughts were: my back … my shoulders … my neck … the list kinda went on. So I decided to focus on a muscle that rarely gives me grief … for now:
Maybe I should have interpreted it as ‘mussel spasm’ and drawn a clam freaking out or something.

It’s an absolutely gorgeous, summer-feeling day today in Toronto where people are out and about sporting sunglasses, tank tops, shorts and flip flops — so it’s time for me to get out there and enjoy the sun too.
And so I leave you with today’s CSOTD (Creative Something of the Day):
My other interpretation of these words was a pack of bicycles, tricycles and unicycles milling around together but that’ll have to wait for another day …

Looking for a meal that’s delicious, relatively nutritious and cheap? Check out Jinmirak‘s dol sot bi bim bap, a large stuff-your-stomach-full bowl of rice, a variety of veggies, meat and an egg still cooking on top (sometimes the egg is already fried). The descriptive “dol sot” means “stone pot” so the dish is served in a really hot stone bowl where you can still hear the food sizzling away as they bring it to your table. One recommendation: let the bowl sit for a few minutes before mixing it all up — lets the rice cook a bit more so that it ends up with a yummy, crispy edge to it! Mmmmmm … can you tell I’ve had my share of bowls for practice?
Was glad to see this favourite dish of mine make it into a “Toronto’s cheap eats” article recently — yep, this appetite-satisfying meal costs less than $10 plus they include a bunch of small free appetizers.
And as it turns out, the Creative Something of the Day is quite appropriate since it’s all about food today:
