Flashing lights

April 5, 2010

If you’re ever in the mood to splurge on some pizza, you can order Magic Oven‘s “Signature” ‘za: “Organic Spelt crust topped with a light herb tomato sauce, medley of grilled vegetables, roasted breast of chicken chunks, morsels of organic beef salami, organic mozzarella & goat cheese with fresh herbs – garnished with 24 karat gold leaf.”

Only $108 for a large (maybe try a small first for $29).

For today’s CSOTD, here’s a guy to light up your life a bit:

Baked! Cheetos Crunchy Cheese Flavored Snacks

Baked! Cheetos Crunchy Cheese Flavored Snacks

My most recent “go to” snack has been Baked! Cheetos cheezies which are super tasty and not as greasy/oily like their fried counterpart … if you’ve got the munchies, giv’em a whirl (careful: they can be a tad addictive!).

And in keeping with the snack talk, here’s today’s CSOTD (Creative Something of the Day):

I love the expression of the little girl at the end of this commercial:

Apple of my eye

After 10 years of not being able to eat apples, my sister just found out that she  can now munch on these awesome fruits! (Way to go, Em!) … and boo on food allergies!

Cause it’s a good thing

October 5, 2009

A few friends and I were happy to participate in the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure race yesterday morning. What a great event! So many people out to walk/run the route with plenty of others volunteering and cheering from the sidelines.

Afterwards, we ended up for a tasty brunch at Brassaii where we saw tonnes of other participants — way to go everyone — nice to see so many supporting such an amazing cause!

Make a break for it

October 2, 2009

Looking for a light, refreshing snack? (Wow, do I sound like a commercial or what?!) Try freezing some green or red seedless grapes and enjoying them after lunch or mid-afternoon when you’re feeling like something yummy. Kinda explains the reaction in today’s Creative Something of the Day:

Smoke’s Poutinerie was recently recommended to me and I have to say that I hope to check them out soon … curious about some of the additional toppings they offer such as double smoked bacon and sauteed mushrooms. And I love their phone number: 416.599.CURD.

Both my sister and my father recently bought The Magic Bullet (make sure you turn down your volume first!).

They both love food and experimenting with their own recipes so can’t wait to see what sort of concoctions and uses they come up with for this new kitchen gadget of theirs. In the meantime, they may get some “inspiration” from http://www.willitblend.com/ (thanks CCS!).

The real thing

September 1, 2009

I couldn’t help but think of the Coke Zero commercials when I got the words for today’s Creative Something of the Day — the first one I’ve liked since seeing it on TV but have to admit, have never seen the second one but it still cracks me up:

Just for the record, I’ve never tried Coke Zero …

Pretty corny

August 26, 2009

I recently bought a box of Kellogg’s Corn Pops cereal but have to admit that they don’t seem to taste as good as what I remember when eating them as a kid. Did you know that they use “fancy molasses” to make these guys, not just plain ol’ molasses … curious to know exactly what the difference is  …

So in line with the whole maize theme, here’s today’s Creative Something of the Day (CSOTD):
