Hammock Havoc

Some hippo facts (courtesy of The Toronto Zoo):

• their jaws can open to 150 degrees
• their skin exudes “blood sweat”, droplets of moisture containing a red pigment
• babies weigh 27-50kg at birth (ouch)
• they spend two thirds of the day in water but don’t eat aquatic plants
• they are hunted extensively for their ivory teeth and for their hide (boo)
